The moment has finally arrived: game 1 of the 2014 NBA finals between the Miami Heat and The San Antonio Spurs takes place tonight in what looks to be an exciting re-match of last years finals.
Miami won its second straight NBA Championship last year by defeating the Spurs and are looking to do it again and become 3-time champions.
If Miami 3-peats they will cement their place among some of the greatest teams in the history of the game.
The Spurs meanwhile, are looking for redemption after last years loss. Last years finals was closer than many fans thought it would be and it looked like they were going to end the series and win it all in game 6.
However, as most of you will remember, the Spurs fell apart at the end of that game, particularly star forward Tim Duncan, who had a chance to close it out and couldn’t do it.
Miami took over with a 5-point final minute in game 6 that won them the game. Those final seconds shifted the series and the Spurs never really recovered- Miami won game 7 and San Antonio is now looking to erase that haunting memory.
Game 1 takes place tonight in San Antonio at the AT&T Center. Tip off is at 9 P.M. (EST) on ABC. You can also watch anywhere with live streaming from WATCHESPN and NBA.com.
Tickets for tonight’s game are still available for fans in the San Antonio area.
