2014 US open Day 7: TV Schedule/Streaming/Order of Play/Key Matches & Highlights

As we head into Day 7 at the 2014 US Open the focus will be on the women, who begin their round of 16, which means it’s crunch time for the few that remain.

Today’s coverage will be split between the Tennis Channel, CBS Sports and the CBS Sports Network  as follows:

11 A.M. (EST)-6 P.M. (EST) Men’s 3rd Round/Women’s Round of 16 on CBS/CBS Sports Network.

7 P.M. (EST)-11 P.M. (EST) Men’s 3rd Round/ Women’s Round of 16 on the Tennis Channel.

Viewers can also catch all the action streaming live through the CBS Sports Tennis Channel Everywhere   or US Open Live .

The US Open Live site is free for everyone, but available in the U.S. only. CBS Sports has streaming, but you must register with them first and   The Tennis Channel Everywhere site can only be accessed through your existing cable/internet provider.

Day  7  will feature some key matches for the women as they try to advance to the round of 8.  For a complete list of the order of play for Day 6 go to the US Open Site.

Here are the key matches to watch for:

Women:

Maria Sharapova-vs-Caroline Wozniacki : match play after 11 A.M. (EST), Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Sharapova is one of the few top seeds left on the women’s side, thanks to her solid style of play that made her earlier rounds a piece of cake.

Wozniacki is a former #1 world player and has gone up against Sharapova 8 times, with Sharapova winning 5 of those matches and Wozniacki winning 2.

Sharapove in 3 sets: 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.

The other women’s match to watch in the women’s group are Sara Errani-vs-Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (match play after 11 A.M. (EST) and Belinda Bencic-vs-Jelena Jankovic (match play at 7 P.M. (EST).

Men:

Marcel Granoller-vs-Rodger Federer: (match play after 1 P.M. (EST), Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Federer has played perfect tennis as hos quest for an 18th Grand Slam title continues.

Granoller is a good player, but has yet to win against Federer, who he has faced 2 times before in hos career.

Federer in straight sets: 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.

Fans will also want to watch Andy Murray play Andrey Kuznetsov (match play after 11 A.M. (EST).

Here are the highlights from day 6:

For the women, Sererna Williams continued to roll, beating Vavara Lepchenko 6-3, 6-3 and Eugenie Bouchard eliminated Barbora Zhalavova  Strycova 6-2, 6-7, 6-4.

For the men Novak Djokovic  beat Sam Querrey easily in straight sets as expected 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
