When Acura first introduced the MDX in 2001, they staked their claim to producing one of the best crossover SUVs on the market. With the 2015 models rolling out, there’s no doubt they are continuing their legacy.
The 2015 model year isn’t seeing a major redesign, however it is fresh off its 2014 overhaul.
Pricing for the MDX starts at just under $43,000 for the base model, and tops out at $57,000 for the Super-Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) model with Advance and Entertainment packages included.
All models come with the powerful 290-horsepower 3.5L V6 and 6-speed automatic transmission equipped with paddle shifters. The front wheel drive model gets an impressive 20/28/23 mpg, and the SH-AWD is still a gas-saver at 18/27/21 mpg.
Although the advanced packages are quite impressive, Acura didn’t skimp on the standard features in the base model:
-Sport seats with leather-trimmed interior
-Push-button 3rd row access
-Tri-zone automatic climate control
-Acura Premium Audio System (8 speakers)
-USB audio interface with iPod integration, Sirius XM satellite radio, and Pandora compatibility
-Multi-view rear camera with dynamic guidelines
-Bluetooth
-Remote power operated lift gate
If you’re looking for more features in your SUV, there is the Advance Package, which includes all of you technology and entertainment needs:
-DVD rear entertainment system with 16.2 inch display
-Acura Navigation System
-12 speaker audio system
-Remote engine start
-Heated and ventilated front seats
-Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control
-Auto-dimming side mirrors and front and rear parking sensors
Although the price is a little steep in comparison to the Toyota Highlander and Nissan Pathfinder, there is no denying Acura’s level of luxury and reliability.
