2015 Chrysler 200 – Elegance & Efficiency in an Affordable Package

The Chrysler 200 is all-new for 2015 and boasts a more refined interior and a smooth, efficient powertrain.

The Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima have long dominated the midsize sedan market. While the first generation Chrysler 200 never made much of an impact, the 2015 model should earn a lot more respect.

Designers of the 2015 200 did a complete overhaul of the cabin and it now features one of the most attractive interiors in this segment. The use of furniture-grade materials, including real wood, gives it a classic Chrysler luxurious feel.

Not only is the 200 classy, but it’s also available with high tech amenities, including a 7-inch LED, full-colour instrument cluster. This feature allows the driver to customize the info they see and where it is displayed.

The 2015 200 also features Chrysler’s award-winning Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen multimedia command centre. This infotainment system is very intuitive and easy to use and keeps all passengers connected.

Two engines are available at launch. The standard engine is the efficient 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir I-4, which produces 184 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. Those looking for a bit more performance can upgrade to the 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 producing 295 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 is the first midsize sedan with a standard nine-speed automatic transmission. This allows the 200 to return a highway fuel economy rating of 44 MPG (6.4L/100km).

The 2015 200 comes standard in front-wheel drive trim. However, it joins the Subaru Legacy as the only other midsize sedan to offer all-wheel drive. Chrysler’s innovative AWD system is the first able to completely disconnect the rear axle when it’s not needed, reducing parasitic loss and improving fuel economy.

What do you think about the 2015 Chrysler 200? Will it have a bigger impact than its predecessor?
