2015 Volvo XC90 – The Face of a New Generation

Volvo has finally unveiled its much-anticipated 2015 XC90.

First, Volvo teased us with a glimpse of the all-new XC90’s interior.

Volvo disclosing the details of their exciting range of engines followed that a few weeks later.

Now, Volvo has shown us the complete package.

The 2015 XC90 promises to be a premium quality seven-passenger SUV, and now we can see its striking exterior along with its modern and luxurious interior and new powertrain technologies boasting an unrivalled combination of power and fuel efficiency.

“This is one of the most important days in our history. We are not just launching a car, but re-launching our brand. This day marks a new era for our company,” said Hakan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car Group. “The XC90 paves the way for a portfolio of exciting new cars to come in the following years.”

The all-new XC90 has a confident new look. The Volvo emblem is more boldly presented on the grille, and along with the T-shaped “Thor’s Hammer” daytime running lights, give it a distinctive image. Many of the new design elements will be mirrored on future models.

Volvo has a plan to reach its Vision 2020 and the three main areas of focus are safety, connectivity and autonomous drive.

The 2015 XC90 has two new technologies that take Volvo a significant step closer to their safety goal. It has a comprehensive standard safety package including the world’s first run-off road protection package and auto brake at intersection capability.

Both features are highly sophisticated and can detect what is happening around the car. Run-off road protection tightens the safety belts and the seats are designed to dampen the forces of a hard landing. Automatic braking can take over if the driver turns in front of an oncoming car.

Let us know in the comments what you think about the 2015 Volvo XC90. Will it usher in a bright future for Volvo?
