2016 Holiday Saving Tips: Apps, Discounts & More

The holiday shopping frenzy is set to begin this week with Thanksgiving and Black Friday, and to help you shop smart from now until Christmas, we searched for the best apps, tools, discounts, and more.

And we found them, courtesy of Samantha Rego, spokesperson with Valpak and Savings.com. She shared some great tips and useful tools so you can get the best value for your money this holiday season.

Here’s how:

Apps

Apps are one of the easiest ways to save when shopping. From individual store apps to alert you when deals are going on, to price matching apps, all it takes is a few clicks to save big money. Here are the best apps to have:

PriceJump: Created by Savings.com, this handy app quickly compares prices to let you know if you’re getting the best price. You can type in a store URL, or scan a bar code and the app will compare the price to thousands of other stores.

Cartwheel: Target’s Cartwheel app allows shoppers to save anywhere from 5-50% on items, and also gives them access to select online deals or early access to some sales events.

For instance, this year, Black Friday presale and doorbusters will be available on Cartwheel on November 23.

Walmart: Another must-have retail app is from Walmart. The Walmart app gives you discounts, early access and more.

Download now and get a map to where the hottest items for Black Friday are located in the store and access to early deals.

RetailMeNot: They are an all-in-one site, offering coupons for just about every retailer you can imagine. You can search, or have offers customized based on your preferences. Available for Android and iOS

Tools & Shopping Dates
