The world’s most popular hybrid automobile ushers in a bold new era with the the release of the all-new, 2016 Toyota Prius.
Building on its reputation for remarkable fuel economy, the all-new Prius will be the fourth generation, and each generation has out-performed the last.
“The 2016 Toyota Prius is ready to win over new fans with ground-breaking environmental performance, bold new styling, and a fun-to-drive spirit,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President of Toyota Canada Inc. “Rebuilt from the road up, this new Prius has everything it needs to remain a segment leader and a pioneer.”
Highlighting the new package are the improvements to the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive. Helping the new Prius go further and consumer even less fuel is a new gasoline engine with thermal efficiency of more than 40%.
Also, the new Prius is the first global vehicle to implement Toyota’s New Global Architecture. This is intended to boost performance and enhance a vehicle’s appeal to buyers through an integrated development program for powertrain components and vehicle platforms.
In that effort, this Prius has a lower centre of gravity and a new suspension system. This makes it feel more planted and dynamic.
This also results in a completely fresh look to the exterior. The 2016 Prius has a longer, lower and sleeker outline that gives it a much more athletic feel.
Inside, materials are premium quality and the technology is cutting edge. Toyota says that comfort and spaciousness were emphasized throughout the design process.
