The all-new 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C made its highly anticipated debut in the U.S. at the New York Auto show and in Canada during the Canadian Grand Prix.
Today, Alfa Romeo announced the initial group of 86 dealers that have been awarded franchises.
Eighty-two of those dealers will be in the United States, spread across 33 states. Lucky residents of California, Texas and Florida will see the highest concentration. Canada will get 4 dealers in this first group.
These franchises will be the first to sell the gorgeous 2015 4C Coupe and limited number 4C Launch Edition on Alfa Romeo’s return to North America.
The Alfa Romeo 4C is a two-seat, mid-engine exotic supercar boasting a carbon fiber monocoque and an all-aluminum 1750cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Visible through the rear window, the 4C’s engine produces 237 hp. A modest rating for a supercar, but when you factor in its incredibly light weight, it will easily pass 60 mph in the mid four second range and onto a top speed of 160 mph.
Aiding the 4C’s performance is a next generation turbocharger featuring a pulse-converter exhaust manifold. This exploits pressure waves and boosts torque at low-engine speeds so 80% of the maximum 258 ft-lbs of torque is available at only 1,700 rpm.
An Alfa TCT twin-clutch transmission is mated to the lightweight engine. It has calibrated software that adjusts with the Alfa DNA selector system. This system has four settings, All-weather, Natural, Dynamic, and Race, with gear shifts most aggressive in Dynamic and Race modes.
The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C will start going on sale later this summer.
