Hitting the web today is the preview to the next film from Dreamworks Animation: “The Croods“.
The movie features the first family to live in prehistoric times. The family has lived a very simple life, all enjoying the solitude their cave… well, all except for their teenage daughter.
The families’ livelihood changes when a rock slide destroys their home. This event leads the family to set off on an adventure, full of wonder and danger, as they try to find their place in the world.
The new animated film stars Nicolas Cage as father Grug and Emma Stone as daughter Eep.
Also featured in the cast are Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachmen.
The film comes to us from director Chris Saunders, the visionary who has brought us animated hits such as “How to Train Your Dragon“.
Kirk De Micco, who is known for his work in “Quest for Camelot” and “Space Chimps,” is also a part of the directing team.
Watching the trailer, the movie does not appear to feature much new in the way of a story and characters. However, the visuals alone may have people talking. It’s very colorful, and could very well be another animated hit from Dreamworks Animation.
“The Croods” will be hitting theaters next March.
