Almost Half A Million Ford F-250 and F-350 Continental Tires Recalled

390,657 light truck tires are being recalled by Continental Tire Americas LLC because they “did not meet Continental’s performance expectations in the field,” according to the company.

While Continental said that the tires met federal safety standards, they noted that the tires may experience uneven wear and vibration that could lead to belt-edge separation.

Continental said that approximately 330,000 of the tires were placed on new 2008 and 2009 Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks. The remainder of the tires were sold as replacements.

The tires being recalled were manufactured between May 6, 2007 and September 20, 2008. The tire names, sizes and DOT numbers are as follow:

– Continental ContiTrac Size: LT275/70R18 125/122S Load Range E Black Sidewall with the DOT Serial Numbers: P515 46YB 4307 through P515 46YB 3708

– Continental ContiTrac TR Size: LT275/70R18 125/122S Load Range E Outline White Letters with the DOT Serial Numbers: P515 46U0 1807 through P515 46U0 2308

– Continental ContiTrac TR Size: LT275/70R18 125/122S Load Range E Black Sidewall with the DOT Serial Numbers: P515 46XB 2607 through P515 46XB 2408

Continental said they are notifying owners and providing replacement tires free of cost. Consumers that need additional information, or assistance with identifying the tires, are being advised to contact Continental at continentaltire.com or 1-888-799-2168.
