Amazon announced this week that is has added free unlimited streaming of 5,000 movies and TV shows as a benefit to its Amazon Prime membership.
The new benefit for Amazon Prime members will be no additional cost and will take effect immediately. Members can opt to watch the programs through their computers or qualifying TVs, Blu-ray players and set top boxes.
This free benefit is only available to the actual Amazon Prime subscriber. Those that are guests on the subscriber’s Amazon Prime account are not eligible.
Amazon Prime costs $79 per year and includes benefits such as free two day shipping on any purchase made through Amazon, the ability to upgrade to one day shipping for $3.99 and now free streaming movies.
New users are eligible for a trial period.
