American Express Cardholders To Get Deals Through Twitter

Shoppers with American Express cards can now get exclusive deals through Twitter, according to a statement released by the credit card company late last week.

American Express said users will be able to sync their American Express card accounts to their Twitter accounts. Doing so will make the shopper eligible for discounts that will be credited to their monthly statement.

To get the discounts, cardholders will first sign up through https://sync.americanexpress.com. Then, after tweeting a message to a participating retailer, the user can participate in the deal. No coupons are required, and at the cash register the regular price charged. The shopper will receive a credit for the deal on their billing statement within ‘a few days’ of the transaction.

Current offers available through this program can be viewed at https://twitter.com/#!/AmericanExpress/favorites. Some of the offers currently listed on the Twitter feed include a $10 credit when $50 or more is spent online at 1-800 flowers.com, $5 back on a $5 or more purchase at McDonald’s, and $10 back when $75 or more spent at Zappos online.

American Express offers similar deals through Facebook and Foursquare.
