And The World’s Biggest Smartphone Manufacturer Is…

With approximately 83.2 million smartphones sold in the first quarter of 2015, Samsung is currently the top smartphone maker. Samsung and Apple have been fighting for the top spot for a while and as of now, Samsung is the victor.

In the same period as Samsung’s 83.2 million sales, Apple sold approximately 61.2 million iPhones.

No doubt Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge phones helped push it over the top.

Now before Samsung begins the celebration, they should take a look at their profits.

Samsung’s profits slipped by 39% over the course of the quarter, but that hasn’t deterred the company. Rather, they predict that the Galaxy S6 will bring the profits back up during the second quarter.

The company expects to increase their global earnings by selling 23 million Galaxy S6 and 23 million Galaxy S6 Edge phones by the end of this year.

Samsung has said that demand for both models of the S6 are higher than expected, which will surely help them in the long run. After all, meeting the combined 46 million sales target won’t be easy.

Nevertheless, we could all learn something from Samsung’s positive attitude, don’t you think? Let us know if you think Samsung will remain on top in the comments below!
