Apple iPad On Clearance – Recent Buyers Get $100 Refunds

First generation iPads are now being offered on clearance by Apple. The clearance price is $100 less than the previous iPad retail price. Apple is also offering $100 refunds to consumers that purchased an iPad during the two weeks prior to the price drop.

The original iPad came in six different models. The price of each has been dropped by $100.

The Wi-Fi enabled ipads are now $399 to $599, depending on the amount of storage. The Wi-Fi + 3G versions now start at $529 and go up to $729.

The $100 refund is available to customers who purchased their iPad from one of Apple’s retail stores within 14 days of yesterday’s iPad 2 launch event, according to Forbes.com.

The iPad 2 to goes on sale in the US on March 11, with a starting price of $499. It will be available in other countries on March 26. The newer version is a third thinner than the first generation model, and 15% lighter. Some of the new features include a faster processor, front and rear facing cameras, iOS 4.3, and a ‘Smart Cover’ designed to better protect it’s screen. The cover wakes the iPad 2 when opened, and puts it to sleep when closed, and converts into a stand when needed.

The first generation iPads that are on clearance can be found in the online Apple store, within the special deals section.
