Today, Apple launched its annual ‘Back to School’ promotion, offering students Apple Store gift cards of up to $100 for purchasing a new Mac, iPhone or iPad.

All new Macs are eligible for the promotion, excluding the Mac Mini. All currently-sold iPads (4th-generation, iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPad Mini with Retina Display) and currently-sold iPhones (4S, 5S and 5C models) are also eligible.

Students who take advantage of the promotion at an official Apple retail store, or on the Apple online store, will receive a $100 Apple Store gift card with the purchase of a new Mac, or a $50 Apple Store gift card with the purchase of a new iPhone or iPad.

However, those who purchase new Apple products via authorized campus retailers will receive gift cards for the iTunes/App/iBooks Stores, rather than for the Apple Store. This has traditionally been the case for all purchases. This is the first year that Apple has offered gift cards at their own retail stores.

Apple’s ‘Back to School’ promotion begins today, July 1st, and runs through September 9th. It is currently only available in the United States.

As always, students can receive education pricing on new Macs and iPads, in addition to an Apple Store gift card.
