Apple Watch to Launch This Spring

According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores Angela Ahrendts has recently revealed to Apple employees that the highly-anticipated Apple Watch is to be launched as early as Spring of 2015.

Although ‘Spring’ is still a fairly wide launch window, it is slightly more promising one than the “early next year” launch date that Apple provided in September when they first announced the Apple Watch.

It is possible that the launch date of the Apple Watch will be on the later end of the Spring launch window, according to the report, as Apple is still working to finish up on the device’s OS. It was noted by members of the press who were given the opportunity to test out the Apple Watch that the displayed test devices were not in fact running the Apple Watch operating system.

The manufacturing process of the Apple Watch may also be delayed as Apple’s manufacturing plants in China are still working hard to meet the still-steady demand of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The Apple Watch is Apple’s bold entry into the ‘smart watch’ market. It is highly-anticipated to become an even more popular device that many of the other smart watches out on the market today. For reasons difficult to pinpoint, this has long been the case with Apple’s new products.

Just as Android Wear smart watches are only functional for users running the Android OS on their phones, the Apple Watch will only be compatible with Apple’s iPhones running iOS.
