Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer Spotlights New Allies

Rocksteady and Warner Brothers Interactive have unveiled a new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight. To contrast with the previous, villain-focused video, this one focuses on Batman’s allies.

The trailer displays returning characters from Arkham City: Catwoman, Nightwing, and Robin. Most of them have similar looks and designs from their previous game, with Nightwing only having a different mask and hairdo. They are all shown in the main Gotham City locations, and it is unknown if they will be available for free-roam play as Batman is.

Robin is returning from his Arkham City appearance, helping Batman briefly. He also had more relevance on the DLC expansion, “Harley Quinn’s Revenge”.

Nightwing’s role in the game should be interesting to see, as he was only in one of the DLC packs and played no role in the main story. This time he could have a major, speaking role.

Catwoman was a major playable character previously, and even had her own storyline parallel to Batman. She also was the main antagonist of Arkham Origins: Blackgate.

Other, non-playable allies shown include Oracle, James Gordon, Aaron Cash, Alfred Pennyworth, and what looks to be Lucius Fox. Azrael, another Arkham City character, is shown, giving Batman another ominous warning. This time, he wears an armor closer to Michael Lane’s comic book version.

In addition, the trailer reveals a brand-new gameplay feature: “Dual Play”. This mechanic allows for seamless switching between Batman, Nightwing, Robin, and Catwoman during combat and missions. The characters are all shown as playable as they take down mysterious androids.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be on stores June 23rd and will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
