BBC’s Merlin: Season 5 Series Finale To Be “Dramatic,” Say Creators

In a surprising turn of events, the BBC has announced that they are pulling the plug on popular TV show Merlin at the end of its fifth season this December.

The creators of the show have said that the show will go out with a “natural and dramatic” two-part finale that will revolve around the battle for Camelot and wrap up all story arcs.

Merlin, which airs on the Syfy network in the United States, takes a refreshing departure from normal portrayals of King Arthur and Merlin by setting the series in the early years of the two iconic characters.

Irish actor Colin Morgan, who plays Merlin, had this to say about the series ending: “We’ve arrived at its strongest point and we’ve achieved what we set out to do.”

Bradley James, the actor that plays King Arthur, had this to say: “It’s always wise to go out on a high and I think we are at a stage where you take it series by series and think do we want to another one or do we want to do something else?”

What do you think of the end of Merlin? Are you happy the show is ending on satisfied note? Sound off in the comments section below!
