‘Better Call Saul’ Pilot Sets A Ratings Record

15.8 million viewers. That’s how many people tuned in to AMC’s ‘Better Call Saul’, the spin-off of the same network’s ‘Breaking Bad’.

Although a spin-off , ‘Saul’ really stands alone as an independent show. It starts off with Bob Odenkirk as James Jimmy McGill. Immediately we’re intrigued as to how he might have came from Jimmy McGill to Saul Goldman.

A down-and-out lawyer, McGill steadily builds his practice as a criminal lawyer. The great story telling and exciting cameos held our interest and started a new Vince Gilligan-type addiction to a new drama.

The show intimately entangles itself with the world of ‘Breaking Bad’, and it’s thrilling to catch those moments, big and small. Fan boys of the show will especially lose their minds over one cameo at the end of the pilot, “Uno.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if Odenkirk won awards for his darkly humored portrayal of a lawyer with diminishing morals.

‘Better Call Saul’ airs Monday at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
