Blackberry recently announced that their ever-popular messaging will be released on Windows Phone, with the closed beta beginning now and the open beta beginning in the coming weeks.

This decision came after thousand of requests came in from Windows Phone users around the world that require business friendly messaging.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Blackberry messenger, it is a business-oriented messaging app with a myriad of features including messaging, group chats, contacts and feeds.

Blackberry also noted that features such as voice, channels and “Glympse location sharing”  will be added at a later date, but at the start it will only contain the basic messaging features.

You can sign up for the beta on the official website here, or wait a few weeks to get in on the open beta program.

There is currently no official date of open beta, but they expect it to be within 1-3 weeks.
