BMW F 800 R- A Better All-Rounder

BMW has recently unwrapped the new F 800 R.

When compared to the out going model, the rider will notice more torque, better ergonomics, and increased versatility.

The 2015 F 800 R sees a 3 hp gain, bringing the output to a healthy 90 hp at 8,000 rpm, with peak torque unchanged at 63 lb-ft.

The engine remains a liquid cooled 4 valve parallel twin cylinder with 798cc displacement.

The gearing has been shortened for first and second gear to produce an even greater sprinting ability without sacrificing the low end pulling power, quick responses or fuel economy that the previous model was known for.

Enhancing the riding experience, is the new upside down front fork , standard ABS and the fade free dual disc hydraulic front brakes.

The bike has 125mm of spring travel front and rear. The preload is easily adjusted using a hand wheel at the rear central spring strut.

As for driver comfort, the 10mm lower seat, now 790mm high, new handlebar, and foot pegs should provide comfort during long days in the saddle, and worry free stops for those with shorter legs.

While the F 800 R is aimed toward novice riders, the numerous available options would make for an intriguing touring bike for the rider who is looking to trade in the crotch rocket for something easier on the back.

The newly designed fairings, radiator shields, front mudguard and wheels, give the bike a sporty figure. The now symmetrical main headlight gives it a unique face.

The upright seating position is perfect for long haul comfort, and with the optional luggage with incorporated back rest, the significant other will remain comfortably still, and the number of pit-stops will be seriously lessened.

Making the bike a more versatile machine is the long list of optional equipment.

Safety options: ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment, anti-theft

Visual and ergonomic: Akrapovič sport silencer, LED lighting, sport or touring bags, heated grips, mud guards, BMW Navigation, high or tinted windshield etc.

So regardless of what type of ride your looking for, the new BMW F 800 R, should fit the bill.

With the increased performance, safety, and comfort, this all-rounder is ready to tackle every road, and any trip.
