The last eight episodes of the Breaking Bad series are now available on Netflix, less than five months after the final episode aired on AMC.
The second half of season five will show how “Walt’s downward spiral leads him to the top of a drug empire, risking everything and everyone,” according to the season’s summary on Breaking Bad’s Netflix page.
At the 2013 Emmy Awards, Vince Gilligan, the creator and producer of the award-winning series, noted his opinion on the effect that Netflix has had on Breaking Bad. Gilligan stated: “I think Netflix kept us on the air.”
That night, Breaking Bad won two of the six Emmy awards for which it was nominated: Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
While Netflix users are now able to stream all Breaking Bad episodes online, those who want to buy the last season are able to purchase the sixteen episodes of season five on DVD. The final season is currently available as a three-disk set on Amazon for $29.96. A box set of all five seasons is also available on Amazon for $133.13.
