During the holidays, countless new pets are bought. We all know that. However, pet adoption is something that usually does not spark too much.
This year, if you live in California, you might want to consider adopting from the SPCA. For the entire month there is a special promotion going on: adopt a pet and save money.
Puppies and dogs can be adopted for $25 while kittens and cats can be adopted for $15. You can read more about it on the official web post here.
The price that you pay will include microchip, topical flea or tick control, rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, de-worming and dog license when necessary.

If you think about getting a pet this year and you do not live in California, go to the local rescues. You will notice that many of them run similar campaigns and it is always better to adopt a pet in need.
