We already know that the trio from the original Star Wars trilogy of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford will be returning for Star Wars: Episode VII, and now there is growing speculation that Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, may be appearing in the movie as well.

What Lourd’s role may be or how much screen time she’ll receive remains unclear, but one UK publication is reporting that she will be playing the part of a young Princess Leia in flashback scenes.

Director J.J. Abrams has reportedly chosen her because of resemblance to Fisher.  According to a source, “she will even have her hair tied up in Princess Leia-style buns.”

Lourd is an aspiring actress and singer that jumped at the opportunity to play the role made famous by her mother, while Fisher liked the idea of someone in her family portraying the famous role.

Of course, despite all of this being published in the UK, it all remains rumor and speculation, and there’s no telling how Abrams may utilize Lourd or flashbacks of younger Princess Leia, or how other characters would be portrayed in flashbacks.

If true, this could be exciting news for Star Wars fans, who will have to wait until December 2015 to know for sure.  What do you think of Fisher’s daughter playing Princess Leia in flashbacks?  Let us know below.
