Clarisonic Plus Review

Disclaimer: I am not an esthetician, these are just my personal experiences with the Clarisonic Plus.

I’ve owned a Clarisonic Plus for a few years now. I have used it on and off throughout the years, and I always find that my skin is significantly improved during the periods that I am using it.

Fair warning: upon first use, or use after a long absence, the Clarisonic will break you out.  It breaks you out at first because it’s bringing all your blemishes and impurities to the surface. Once those clear up, I find that I have clear skin with only a blemish here or there. It keeps it clear.

I use my Clarisonic once a day, sometimes less. There are people that will use it twice  day, every day, but I advise against it. It’s too harsh of an exfoliant to use that often. Even once a day is pushing it; sometimes, I’ll take a day off if I feel like my skin is being over-exfoliated and I’m noticing irritated or dry patches on my skin. I don’t experience this often, though, because I use such a heavy moisturizing cream. If I used a moisturizing lotion or a lighter moisturizer, I would only use the Clarisonic anywhere from every other day to once a week.

Make sure you change out the brush heads often. If you continue to use a dirty brush head, using your Clarisonic will do more harm to your skin than good.

As for the Plus aspect of my Clarisonic, the only thing that is different about the Plus than the classic is the option for varying speeds. Personally, I never use the different speeds. I set it to medium on the day that I purchased it and I have not changed it since. The Plus that I purchased came with samples of their skincare line as well as a standing charger. I will say that the standing charger for the Clarisonic is great. I love the way it looks on my counter and how convenient it is for it to charge while docked. However, I do wish that my Plus had come with a separate charger, similar to the Mia, for traveling purposes.

With all of this being said, I highly recommend the Clarisonic. It has a high price ticket, but i’s long-lasting. I’ve had mine since early in my high school career. I’m currently a junior at university and I’ve never had a single problem with it.
