Confirmed: Apple Stores To Close For Ceremony

It has now been confirmed, by sources that prefer to remain unnamed, that Apple stores will close today, October 19th, for a ceremony celebrating the life of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

The stores will close at approximately 10am Pacific Standard time (1pm Eastern Time), while the ceremony is webcast for employees. It is expected to take approximately an hour and a half. The service will be held in an outdoor amphitheater on Apple’s campus at it’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The stores plan to reopen, to what is sure to be a somber shopping atmosphere, after the ceremony.

Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer on October 5th, 2011. He had been battling the disease since October of 2003. His funeral was held two days later, and a private memorial was held last weekend.
