Current Fluoride Levels In Drinking Water Considered Unsafe; Possibly Toxic

In recent news, the reported maximum safe level of fluoride in water dropped 40% from 1.2ppm to .7ppm.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stated that the reason for the change was the many studies showing that 41% of teenagers in America have some form of dental fluorosis.

None of the health groups mentioned the studies that suggest that the bones, thyroid, kidneys, liver, fetus, and brain can be damaged by fluoridated drinking water.

As of 2006, approximately 61.5% of the total U.S. population was receiving water with added fluoride.

Dr. Hardy Limeback, Head of Preventive Dentistry at the University of Toronto said that “it is illogical to assume that tooth enamel is the only tissue affected by low daily doses of fluoride ingestion.”

Government studies use sodium fluoride, but over 90% of municipalities are actually using an untested substance called hexafluorosilic acid, which is a waste product in the manufacture of fertilizer and often contains heavy metals.

Fluoride is banned in 9 countries in Europe, as well as China and Japan, on the grounds that it is a toxic substance that provides no benefit in the prevention of cavities.
