Dancing With The Stars: Kym Johnson Hurt, Cleared For Return

Dancing With The Stars pro Kym Johnson fell and was taken off the set on a stretcher and a neck-brace on Friday, but reports indicate that she plans to be back and dancing on Monday. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles for treatment.

Her Dancing With The Stars partner, NFL star Hines Ward, kept fans updated through Twitter and Facebook. “Kym was admitted to the hospital today after falling and injuring her neck during our practice,”  he said just hours after the dramatic incident.

Kym Johnson also kept her fans in the loop, Tweeting “Thank you everyone for your concern, love and support. I’m a little shaken up, sore but I will be fine.” A spokesman for the show confirmed her statement, saying “After several tests, she was cleared by the medical staff, though she is bruised, sore and currently wearing a neck brace.”

This season of Dancing With The Stars has been rough on it’s competitors. Ralph Macchio, of Karate Kid fame, experienced a ruptured cyst on the back of his knee. Mark Ballas and Kirstie Alley have also suffered through a number of sprains and injuries. Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s leg gave out in pain during one performance.

“Dancing With the Stars” will air Monday night, 8pm (ET) on ABC.
