Daytona 500: Streaming Online Free (Legitimately) | Start Time, Channel, Radio

The Daytona 500 will be available streaming online today – legitimately.

Each time a major sporting event takes place, a number of malware laden sites advertise they they have a “free live stream” of the event.

We’ll avoid linking to any examples here, but they generally require that a user download something to watch the stream. The download, of course, includes malware and adware that is difficult to remove, and the “live stream” never seems to work.

But the Daytona 500 is streaming online today from a legit source.

FOX Sports has announced they are streaming the Daytona 500 live through their site and their own official Fox Sports Go iOS app.

Access to the race on computers will be available through FoxSportsGo.com.

Normally FoxSportsGo.com is limited to subscribers of Comcast, AT&T U-verse, Cablevision, Suddenlink, WOW and Midcontinent.

Some sites are reporting that this requirement has been waived for today’s Daytona 500. However, according to FoxSports, a subscription is required.

As of noon (ET) today, we can confirm the live feed is not currently available without logging on through one of the above cable subscription services.

The Daytona 500 is scheduled to have the drivers start their engines at 1:18pm, and the race is set for a 1:30pm start. It will be on TV on FOX, and carried on radio by the Motor Racing Network (MRN).

Rain showers are rolling over north Florida as we get set to publish this story. Looking at the current radar, it looks like they may stay just far enough north to not interrupt the race.
