Dazzling Gowns Take Center Stage At Prom Fashion Shows

Prom fashion shows occurred all over the nation this weekend. Many of the top designers were represented by new promwear. At the Riverwind Casino Showplace Theater in Oklahoma City, OK teens modeled hundreds of prom and evening gowns from the top Oklahoma designers including Sherri Hill and Johnathan Kayne Gillaspie.

Along with the dresses, models wore shoes and accessories that were designed by Johnathan Kayne and Alicia Hill. The hats that were used to accessorize many of Kayne’s dresses were one of a kind vintage style hats in bold colors with feathers and netted veils created by Lydia Sullivan, a local designer.

The latest trends in prom fashions were represented at the 2011 Prom Fashion Show. Many gowns were long and flowing, accented by silk tulle or organza. Some of the gowns were classy tea cup and A-line styles, while others followed more traditional sweetheart and princess patterns.

Some of Hill’s gowns were decked with Swarovski crystals, sequins, and beads. The models took the runway clad in bold colors of turquoise, lime, navy, hot pink, and yellow. The most common prom color, red, was not found at the show Friday night. Metallic fabrics, animal prints, and floral designs also made an appearance.
