Over two years after the original critically acclaimed space-horror video game Dead Space was released, the sequel is finally here. The game starts with Isaac Clarke, the sole survivor of the Necromorph-infested mining ship setting of the first game, waking up from a coma in a strange space city called “The Sprawl.”
Clarke must then avoid government agents and undertake a haunted and terrifying quest to free the city from the grip of the Necromorphs.
Gameplay-wise, it runs just as smoothly as its predecessor, and the inventory screen is much more organic and easier to use. The cinematic storyline is absolutely incredible, improving in every way on what seemed so near-perfect in the first game. It’s a white-knuckle thrill ride from the start menu through to the closing frame.
IGN calls Dead Space 2 the “new gold standard” of survival horror games, and crowned the sequel with a 9.0 rating.
Dead Space 2 was developed by Visceral Games and is set for official release January 25th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
“Isaac Clarke” according to Visceral Games, is a combination of Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke.
