Popular video game developer Visceral Games, an extension of Electronic Arts, announced today that the upcoming installment in their survival horror series Dead Space, Dead Space 3, will feature retailer specific pre-order bonuses.
Gamers who preorder Dead Space 3 from GameStop will receive the EG-900 SMG weapon.
To quote the official press release: “This EarthGov-issued sub machinegun is built for urban warfare. It’s compact but deadly, sporting an internal hyper-accelerator for maximum damage.”
Gamers who preorder the game from Amazon instead will receive the Tesla Enervator weapon.
To quote the press release again: “Sovereign Colonies scientists developed the ‘Enervator’ from an overdriven focus coil to ‘humanely’ eliminate dangerous specimens. The Enervator delivers a precision blast causing instantaneous electrocution and molecular destabilization in the target. In test subjects, death was instantaneous.”
In addition, gamers that preorder Dead Space 3 will also be upgraded, for free, to the Dead Space 3 Limited edition package, which is set to include “First Contact” and “Witness the Truth” gameplay bundles.
Dead Space 3 hits store shelves here in North America on February 5, 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
