Starting today, Microsoft will be kicking off a two week long shopping fiesta they are calling the Microsoft “12 Days of Deals Event“.
The tech fueled holiday sales bonanza will take be taking place at their relatively new (and notoriously desolate) self branded Microsoft Stores, and will be featuring a wide variety of doorbuster deals spanning a period of 12 days, and ending on the 20th of December.
A few convivial in-store activities will also be incorporated into the daily events, filled with prizes and surprises, and a chance to test out the latest and greatest in Microsoft branded (or backed) software and devices.
Today’s Deal
Today’s deal features the Dell Venue 8 Pro, an 8 inch tablet with a 1280 by 800 resolution display and 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, running the Windows 8.1 operating system. The price of this device has literally been slashed in half, and is today retailing for $199.99 in Microsoft Stores nationwide.
Additionally, to sweeten the deal a bit for a few early patrons, the first 20 customers who enter the Microsoft Store (today) will get a chance to purchase the tablet for a further reduced sum of $99.
Today’s Event
Today’s event, sure to be of little interest to all but the most extreme of geeks, will be an hour long coding workshop in celebration of Computer Science Education Week.
*note : As of yet, there has been no word on what specifically will be taking place at the event (in terms of what platform is being coded for) or whether there will be a prize at the end of the day.*
