Disney Cruise Line announced today that they will be sailing from three new ports next year. The new ports of call will be New York, Seattle, and Galveston.
The Disney Magic, which carries up to 2400 passengers, will be cruising from New York. Twenty cruises are scheduled, beginning on May 25, 2012. The cruises will include trips to the Bahamas and Canada. The Disney Magic will head to Galveston in September, and cruise from there to the Western Caribbean.
The Disney Wonder, which also can carry up to 2400 passengers, will be cruising from Seattle starting May 28, 2012, taking trips to British Columbia and Alaska. It will also continue taking cruises out of its home port of Los Angeles during the Spring and Fall of 2012.
The Disney Dream, which can carry 4000 passengers, and the Disney Fantasy, scheduled to launch next year, will call Cape Canaveral home. From there, they will cruise to the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
Karl Holz, Disney Cruise Line President, said “In 2012, we’re making it easier than ever for families to enjoy a Disney Cruise Line vacation by offering cruises from a variety of regional homeports. Guests can now enjoy a magical, one-of-a-kind Disney cruise experience with the convenience of departures from their own backyard.”
According to reports, the Disney Cruise Line will begin taking bookings for the cruises out of New York, Seattle, and Galveston on Friday.
