Dodge Unleashes 2 Special Edition Vipers On The World

Since its inception in 1992, with a starting price of $50,700 (U.S.), the Dodge Viper shocked the world and instilled fear in the long standing high performance and exotic brands. Brands whose offerings can be multiple times the cost, with few besting the performance numbers of the Viper.

For 2015, the reign of terror has continued, with Dodge further weakening the position of its rivals by slashing $15,000 off the entry price.

The present MSRP starts at $84,995 (U.S.). When you take into account inflation and other tedious banker terms, this price is equivalent to that of the original 1992 model.

The two new special edition models have been deemed the Dodge Viper GTS and Dodge Viper TA 2.0.

Lets look at the Viper AT 2.0 first.

With a starting price $101,995( U.S.), the TA 2.0  receives a track focused Aero package that includes a competition rear spoiler, and front lower dive planes. Both add to the downforce created at track level speeds and improve handling and cornering performance.

Other goodies include; two-piece Brembo Rotors, 18/19-inch Matte Black Sidewinder Wheels, Pirelli P Zero Corsa Tires, dual-mode suspension, five-mode ESC, black Brembo brakes with orange lettering, performance brake pads, carbon fiber structural X-Brace, rear carbon fiber applique, TA front splitter, TA aero wing assembly kit, TA front decal, TA sill decal, interior accent stitching and car cover.

The 2015 Dodge Viper GTS offers the customer some preferred “options,” now standard.

With a base price of $107,995, the GTS receives the  track focused Aero package and performance bits, plus Laguna leather seats, Alcantara headliner and Harman Kardon 18-speaker sound system,  Nappa leather IP, console and doors, 18/19-inch polished aluminum Venom wheels, power six-way driver and passenger seats, unique GTS badging.

If one feels the need for even more exclusivity, they can opt for the GTS Ceramic Blue Special Edition with Ceramic Blue exterior color, Black stripes, orange brake calipers, rear carbon fiber applique, and GTS gloss black badging.

Both the AT 2.0 and GTS use the newly refined 8.4L V10 paired to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. This combination is expected to provide fuel economy of 20 mpg ( 11.8 l/100 km), which, if you consider the massive V10 makes 645 h.p., is impressive.

With the added content in these new models, Dodge will likely increase their share in the exclusive high performance market and continue to strike fear in the hearts of the German and Italian makes.
