Epcot is one of several major Disney World attractions in Orlando, Florida.

We’ll be looking at different Disney World parks all week long this week – so watch for additional links at the end of this article!

Epcot

When you think of Epcot, the first image that pops into your head is of Spaceship Earth – aka, the giant silver golf ball.

Beyond looking really cool and featuring some beautiful lighting effects at night, it also features a 15 minute educational ride showcasing the origins of man and its many breakthroughs in communication.

The Spaceship Earth ride is regularly updated to make it more contemporary, with the current incarnation using photographs and touchscreens for an interactive conclusion.

Spaceship Earth is part of Future World – one of the two main sections of EPCOT.

Beyond Spaceship Earth, Future World is known for housing Mission: Space, Innoventions, and Test Track.

Mission: Space acts as a space simulator complete with a faux shuttle launch and g-force spinning.

As its name implies, Innoventions focuses on new and upcoming technology and has gone from being a showcase of Sega and Apple products at its start in the mid ’90s to an area that both features technology, but has an area devoted to healthy living habits, as well as Club Cool, where you can try out Coca-Cola products from around the world.

In 2009, the first ride within Innoventions was opened in the form of The Sum of All Thrills.

In keeping with it being in a tech-focused part of the park, the ride is customized by guests using touchscreens.

This allows each person to tailor the experience to their wants, and helps the ride stand out from others in the park.

With one half of the park focusing on technology, it seems rather fitting that the other half would showcase the world and its natural architecture.

World Showcase features 11 distinct pavilions that aim to give you a taste of life in Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Morocco, France, the UK, and Canada while also featuring an area focusing on America as a whole and its history.
