It’s been a while since the release of an iOS jailbreak solution.
Many iDevice users updated to the latest firmware versions, but they could only use apps available at the App Store, and didn’t have access to Cydia, the jailbreak app store.
Weeks ago, four well known jailbreak developers; Pod2g, MuscleNerd, Pimskeks and Planetbeing joined together to form a new team known as evad3rs.
They’ve been working on the jailbreak for the latest firmwares, and have finally released it today.
The name of the jailbreak is Evasi0n. The compatible devices include iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Mini, and Apple TV 2G (Seas0nPass coming soon).
The Evasi0n jailbreak tool is compatible with all three major computer operating systems; Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. The compatible firmwares are iOS 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and 6.1.
The solution has received an astonishing 100,000 downloads within the first 10 minutes.
Evasi0n can be downloaded from the official website. Users may have to wait in line as the download links may not work due to heavy load on the server.
