First Look At New Star Trek TV Show

CBS is planning to launch a new Star Trek series next year and has released a brief teaser to the public.

The series was first announced last December

At its Upfronts presentation in New York this week, CBS showed a 50-second teaser, which touted “a new adventure,” featuring “new crews, new villains, new heroes [and] new worlds.”

Veteran TV show runner Bryan Fuller is in charge of the series, the first new network Star Trek series since Enterprise went off the air in 2005:

The new series, which does not yet not have a title, cast or specific premise, is set to debut in 2017 on CBS All Access, the CBS-owned streaming service, although the first episode will air on the main CBS network.

In the meantime, Star Trek: Beyond, the latest movie in the Star Trek series, arrives in July, bringing back the cast from the last two movies, including Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Mr. Spock.

What do you think of the teaser? Is the chance to watch a new Trek show worth signing up for CBS All Access?
