Fromm Family Pet Food Recalls Gold Canned Dog Food

Fromm Family Pet Food is voluntarily recalling select 12oz. cans of Gold canned dog food after the company’s analysis showed the foods may contain elevated levels of Vitamin D.

The recalled products include 12oz. cans of Gold Chicken Pate (case code #11893; UPC: 7270511892), 12oz. cans of Gold Chicken & Duck Pate (case code #11895; UPC: 7270511894), and 12oz. cans of Gold Salmon & Chicken Pate (case code #11891; UPC: 7270511890).

Recalled cans were distributed between December 2015 and February 2016.

No illnesses or deaths in dogs have been reported in association with this recall.

Consumers who purchased the recalled products should discontinue feeding the food to their dogs and return the product(s) to the original place of purchase or an authorized Fromm retailer for a full refund.

High levels of Vitamin D can be toxic to dogs. The most common complaint in association with this recall is loss of appetite.
