Frozen Vegetable Recall In 35 States Due To Listeria

CRF Frozen Foods, of Pasco, Washington, has issued a voluntary recall of 15 different frozen vegetable products due to possible listeria contamination.

According to the FDA: “”No illnesses have been reported to date, but the company is recalling the products as a precaution.”

The contamination issue was found during a routine inspection by state health officials in Ohio; listeria was found in 1 lot of peas and also in a lot of white sweet cut corn.

The recalled vegetables were distributed between September 13, 2015 and March 16, 2016 and can be identified by their UPC and Use By Date, which are listed in the table below:

The contaminated vegetables were sent to retailers and distribution centers in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, LA, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NV, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV and WI.

The FDA is advising anyone with a recalled product in their possession to return it to the store where they purchased it.

According to the FDA, listeria can be potentially fatal in young children, elderly people or those with weakened immune systems; pregnant women may have stillbirth.

For healthy adults, symptoms include abdominal pain, high fever, severe headache, stiffness and nausea.
