For all of us that grew up in the ’80s and ’90s, Fuller House is a huge deal. The hype for the Full House revival was enormous across the Internet in the weeks prior to the show’s release. The pilot was exactly what I expected.
While the first episode had its cheesy moments, so did the original show. That was one of the things that made it so charming and sweet. There were corny jokes, positive messages, and silly quirks. But that’s what made the Tanners the Tanners.
I have one complaint: from the pilot, it seems as though the majority of the main cast is leaving the show, only making an appearance for the pilot. Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), Rebecca Katsopolis (Lori Loughlin) appeared to be moving away, leaving the show behind. This thoroughly disappointed me; I was hoping that the entire original cast would remain on board. It almost felt like a cop-out to me, pulling viewers in to see the entire main cast and then shooing them all away. I am hoping that they continue to make a lot of guest appearances, but I have a feeling those will fizzle out.
Overall, I’m excited to see where they take the revival and whether or not it keeps up with its original feel.
