Arriving just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, updates to Google Maps will provide drivers with more clear and concise directions, alternate routes and even a better understanding as to why they may have been diverted from a predetermined route.
For instance, when the destination is entered, Maps will inform you of any upcoming construction and will even estimate the length of the inconvenience.
As before the App will provide an alternate route in heavy traffic, but will now inform you why traffic is slow and why the new route will be quicker.
In a further step to help you plan your weekend, Google has compiled a list of the top trending searches from last year’s Memorial Day weekend.
The most popular search terms were beaches, cemeteries and restaurants.
The worst part of any long weekend excursion is the traffic. Google Maps may have just solved that.
