Great New England Places To Visit – Storyland, Glen, NH

With only a few weeks left, now is the time to visit Storyland.

Opened in 1950, this lovely old amusement park is one place that children can discover pathways that lead to storybook characters and wholesome experiences all set within gentle White Mountain scenery.

Autumn is a great time to visit as the crisp fall air settles into the valley.

The old lady in the shoe still greets visitors with a Storyland sticker and the tea cups spin just as they did 50 years ago.

Even though Heidi’s grandfather no longer waits patiently at the top of the hill, Cinderella continues to encourage young children to explore her castle, swan boats await paddling drivers and the pirate ship is ready to explore the wild waters of the New Hampshire waterways.

The unique and genuine experience of the park is reflected in the caring staff and pristine environment.

While visiting the park, consider staying at the Nordic Village in Jackson.  Only a short drive away, the rental condominiums feature an indoor pool, outdoor pool, rowboats on a pond, bonfires, and most importantly, entertainment that includes visits from Storyland characters.

When you get hungry, the Red Fox Restaurant is just minutes away.  The food is not only delicious but more importantly, there is a children’s playroom where children can play while everyone’s dinner is being prepared.  Patient and forgiving wait staff only supplement  the wonderful experience.

Storyland is only open weekends until the end of Columbus Day Weekend, but an Autumn visit to New England including Storyland, Nordic Village and the Red Fox Restaurant will create a memory that will last a lifetime.
