GTA 5 Delay Reason: A Brand New Experience Takes More Than 2 Years

GTA 5 is taking a long time to develop and a lot of questions on the delay of the game have been asked.

The COO of Take-Two Interactive, Karl Slatoff, has come out to disclose the reason why the game is taking so long.

Gamespot reports Karl as saying each GTA entry provides a ‘brand new experience’ that takes more than a couple of years to create, and a new series every year would reduce the energy of the franchise.

Often times people ask us ‘Why don’t you come out with Grand Theft Auto every two years?’ To us, that doesn’t make sense, because Grand Theft Auto, every single time it comes out, is a brand new experience. You can’t possibly do that in two years. And if we did that, our product would fatigue and the franchise would degrade from a value perspective.

Pre-orders for GTA 5 are available for PS3 and Xbox 360, the delayed release is now set for September 17.

Do you think they should be able to turn out new games faster? Leave your comments below!
