Guess Who Else Forgot The Words To The National Anthem! [Video]

Earlier Today, Cyndi Lauper was given the honor of singing “The Star Spangled Banner” at the U.S. Open in New York. Lets just say the star “pulled a Christina Aguilera” and messed up the words!

On Sunday, the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Cyndi Lauper sang the national anthem in front of millions of viewers, and embarrassingly, jumbled up some of the words.

Christina Aguilera sang “The Star Spangled Banner” earlier this year at the Super Bowl XLV in Vegas, and sang the line, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last streaming,” instead of “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming.” Her slight mistake made her the target of the entire nation.

Lauper sang, “O’er the ramparts we watched as our flag was still streaming,” instead of “O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.”

Lauper will most likely be given Aguilera’s crown of embarrassment, seeing as she messed up the anthem during a very emotional tribute of the 10th anniversary of September 11th.

I don’t think anyone will be forgetting her mistake anytime soon! Poor Cindy!

A recording of Lauper’s unfortunate mistake can be viewed in the video player below.
