Halo 4 News: Return Of Master Chief, Dominion Mode, & More [Trailer]

In a Halo 4 preview event held last week, developer 343i unveiled a new multiplayer mode for the series, Dominion. This new mode looks like it will provide more fast paced action to the game..

The match begins with three unoccupied bases. The bases need to be captured through the course of the round.

If a control point is kept captured for a prolonged period of time, it may be resupplied and bonus points can be earned by the team.

NeoSeeker reports, “Once a team holds said base long enough, defensive emplacements will appear, including anti-personnel turrets, shield doors, holographic vehicle deployment stations, and other obstacles that make life more difficult for competing teams. These armed bases take longer to capture, but their defenses transfer even when a new team holds influence.”

But the big news will be the return of Master Chief to the Halo franchise. Here is the low down on Master Chief, “As a Spartan, he rose to the rank of Master Chief during humanity’s struggle for survival against the Covenant. In 2552, his discovery of the Halo Array and its architects, the Forerunners, propelled mankind to victory, but at a cost. The Chief’s narrow escape from the Forerunner installation known as the Ark eventually set him on a collision course with humanity’s deadliest threat yet.”

This will be exciting for experienced Halo 4 gamers, as Master Chief is one of the most popular game characters in the gaming industry. There will be high expectations regarding Halo 4 to not only live up to the hype and attention surrounding it, but to also be able to deliver in terms of gameplay and story.

Here is a quick look at the story line leading up to Halo 4 from the official Halo 4 Xbox site: “After thirty years of war with the Covenant, humanity finally found victory. The Master Chief, a Spartan super-soldier, and Cortana, an AI construct of unmatched technical sophistication, put an end to the Covenant, the Flood, and the threat of the Halo Array on a remote installation known as the Ark. Now, in the wake of the conflict, the Chief and Cortana drift through space aboard the remains of Forward Unto Dawn, slowly approaching a mysterious artificial world they will soon come to call Requiem.”

Halo 4 is all set for a release on November 6, 2012 for the Xbox-360.
