Happy 100th Birthday To Lucille Ball, The Star Of ‘I Love Lucy’ [Video]

Today is the 100th birthday of one of America’s greatest television stars ever, Lucille Ball.

Lucille Ball was born in 1911 in Jamestown, New York. Ball had been in show business for two decades prior to teaming up with her husband Desi Amaz to launch the hit television show “I Love Lucy,” which was designed specifically to showcase her many talents.

“I Love Lucy” was television’s first multi-camera sitcom, and ran from 1951 to 1957 on CBS. Ball was on TV for almost 25 years straight!

The “I Love Lucy” star won four Emmys in her lifetime, and was nominated 13 times.

Ball passed away April 26, 1989, at age 77.

“It doesn’t seem possible that Lucille Ball would have been 100 years old today,” states newspaper columnist and Fox contributor Cal Thomas. “Her preserved work will keep her forever young and forever in the hearts of those of us who grew up with her. Future generations, too, will love Lucy, because she is timeless.”
