HTC’s delayed shipping of the HTC One has not gone over well with shoppers who pre-ordered.
But HTC is making amends by sending free gift cards to shoppers who are still waiting to receive the phone.
HTC is offering shoppers who directly ordered from their official website (either the 32 GB unlocked version or the 64 GB Developers Edition) a Google Play Store gift card worth $25 through e-mail.
Members of XDA Developers forum, a popular platform for Android device modifications, have claimed to receive the gift card and most of them sound pleased by the gesture from HTC.
Here’s what the e-mail says:
Hello from HTC,
We realize that your shipment was unexpectedly delayed, but we hope that your new HTC One has been worth the wait! Thanks for your patience and understanding. We appreciate your loyalty to HTC, and as a gesture of our thanks, we would like to give you a complementary $25 Google Gift Card.
The sales of HTC One have been encouraging despite the company facing problems of component shortages.
