Starting May 20th in the US, shoppers will be able to order Domino’s pizza through Twitter. Just tweet a pizza emoji at Domino’s on Twitter and the order will be placed.
Of course, an emoji doesn’t specifically say what kind of pizza you’d want. That’s why there’s a bit more involved behind the scenes.
Customers will need to complete an online Domino’s Pizza Profile to get started. From there, tbey’ll designate an Easy Order pizza and add their Twitter handle to your Pizza Profile.
Once that’s all settled, customers will simply have to tweet #EasyOrder with a pizza emoji at @Dominos to place the order.
Domino’s CEO Patrick Doyle spoke with USA Today about it this morning. There, he announced that it would be a permanent feature and that it’s meant to be a “five-second exchange.”
Doyle expressed interest in making it as easy as possible for people to order pizza from Domino’s.
With this feature, Domino’s is the first to introduce this new way of ordering. Perhaps if the feature is popular enough, we could see other restaurants doing this.
