Hurricane Irene Live Video Feeds; Storm-View Cams

Several live streaming video feeds of Hurricane Irene are available online and embedded on this page. More will be added as they become available and as conditions change.

Throughout the day Friday, residents of North Carolina and the New England coastline prepared for the onslaught of Hurricane Irene. The storm brought occasional heavy rains, high tides, and pounding surf to Florida and Georgia as it moved north, staying several hundred miles off the southern US coast.

Its current track leads it straight to the very eastern portions of North Carolina and onto the vulnerable islands just off the NC coast on Saturday morning. From there it’s expected to continue on up the New England coast, raking Washington, Baltimore, Dover, and Philadelphia, before making a second landfall as a hurricane 1 near New York City.

The Weather Channel (TWC) has rated this storm “Extreme”, and is reporting that it has already spawned one tornado with structural damage. TWC has posted the following message on its site: “Anyone in the corridor from eastern North Carolina to the Northeast U.S. should be making final preparations for a hurricane!”
